- WOMEN OF PROGRESSIVE JUDAISM—SOUTH AFRICA (Giddy Lief)
As my two year term as President of Women for Progressive Judaism is coming to an end shortly, I am reflecting on all that has happened during this period. It has been a difficult but most rewarding period of time for me. I have enjoyed travelling around the country, meeting members from other committees. It has been quite rewarding to see the outreach work carried out by all communities countrywide.
Reaching our goals or building up new ones in today's economic climate continues to be challenging, and so it is most rewarding to note all the hard work done by the United Sisterhood Committee, staff and volunteers.
It continues to be a pleasure for me as President of WPJ-SA to be associated with United Sisterhood. It is so inspiring to see the wonderful work done with the aged through the Eve Kantor Golden Age Club, the Jewish Family Assistance Fund, Sizwe Hospital School, MC Weiler School.
